Job Summary

Working in accordance with verbal and written instructions and established procedure, and as assigned by the supervisor, perform a variety of duties.

Essential Duties

  • Read blueprints and assemble product to engineered specifications using a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Decal product per blueprint specifications.
  • Using a saw and nail/screw guns, cut lumber and build crates per specifications.
  • Check for availability of required components. Report all shortages to the Paint and Assembly Coordinator.
  • Securely wire and band parts as necessary.
  • As required, operate 10-ton overhead crane, observing all safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform a variety of computer functions to manage inventory and time clock activity.
  • Perform routine daily inspection of forklift. Change tanks of propane as required and report any malfunctioning of equipment to the Supervisor.
  • Observe all Corporate safety rules and regulations, including those for forklift operation.
  • When working on larger and more complex assignments, direct the activities of any help that may be provided.
  • Perform manual Paint Shop labor such as, hanging unpainted parts on the paint line, removing painted parts from the paint line, plugging and taping parts as specified, sorting parts, packaging completed product, etc.
  • Perform a variety of additional duties as instructed by the Supervisor or Paint and Assembly Coordinator such as, assist the Shipping Department with pulling orders, help Production Stores pull shop orders, put finished product away, etc.
  • Responsible for inspecting your own work.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, sweeping as necessary.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required.

Physical Demands

  • In an 8-hour day the employee must stand/walk 6-8 hours and sit 1-4 hours.
  • Must frequently use hand(s) for repetitive movement single grasping, occasionally pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Must occasionally use foot/feet for repetitive movement as in operating foot controls.
  • Must occasionally bend, twist, squat, climb, and reach.
  • Must perform Light Heavy Work, lifting 75 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Manufacturing setting.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times in all manufacturing areas

  • Safety glasses with side shields.
  • Steel toe shoes.
  • Long work pants.

  • Safety goggles or face shield (as required).
  • Hearing protection (as needed).
  • Protective gloves (material handling).
  • Hard hat (where overhead hazards exist).
